Today, we celebrate 50 years of cultural exchange and connection between South Burlington High School and Schiller-Gymnasium in Hameln, Germany! This partnership is the second-longest high school exchange of its kind in the U.S. and the longest between Vermont and Germany, enriching generations of students through new experiences and lifelong friendships.
We’re honored to welcome 15 students from Schiller-Gymnasium and special guests like Tim Kahn, who helped lay the foundation for this incredible program. A heartfelt thank you to our friends for the flag now proudly hanging in our lobby, reminding us of this meaningful partnership and all it represents.
Here’s to 50 years of friendship and many more to come!

September is #NationalSuicidePreventionMonth, a time for us to come together as a community to raise awareness and support one another. We want to remind you that you are not alone—there are people and resources available to help you through difficult times.
This Friday, from 10:30 -12:30 we invite you to join us for a Resource Fair in the SBHS lobby where you can access info dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention. This is a great opportunity to learn about the resources available to you and your peers, including counseling services, hotlines, and support groups.
Remember, it’s okay to ask for help, and reaching out is a sign of strength. Let’s support each other and foster a caring environment for everyone.
If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, mental health struggles, or challenges with substance abuse, the @988lifeline is available 24/7 to provide emotional support.

We’re excited to welcome our Spanish TIE (The International Experience) students from Escuela Montessori , who arrived in Vermont last night! Over the next several days, they’ll be sitting in on classes, exploring our beautiful state, and building meaningful connections with our community. 💙🐺
Today, after getting oriented to SBHS, they took in the views on a hike up Mt. Philo alongside some of our students and staff. 🏞️👟 It’s just the beginning of what promises to be a fantastic exchange!

We're bursting with pride over the turnout at the Burlington Pride Parade! Students from the QSA and GSA, staff and families attended the event this past weekend.

The South Burlington School District is search of a Junior or Senior to represent the SBHS student voice on the SBSD Finance Committee. Applications are available here: https://bit.ly/SBSDFC
