Are you familiar with the Members of the Military, Family and Community Network (MFCN) of Vermont?
War and the experiences of our returning troops impact the service members, their families, and aspects of our entire community. Members of the Military, Family and Community Network (MFCN) of Vermont, are committed to ensuring that communities have a greater awareness of the issues that vets and their families face following deployment. The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC)'s work is focused on ensuring quality educational opportunities for all military children affected by mobility, family separation, and transition. Find out more about the MFCN at: www.vtmfcn.org, or visit the Military Child Education Coalition (www.militarychild.org).

Internet Safety Talk DVDs Available to Public
Sergeant Kris Carlson of the Burlington Police Department, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, offered an Internet Safety Talk aimed at middle and high school students and their parents and guardians on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at South Burlington High School. DVDs of that talk are now available in all five public school libraries (Chamberlain, Orchard, Rick Marcotte Central, F.H. Tuttle, and South Burlington High School) as well as the Community Library for families, educators, and community members to check out.

The PTO has purchased Vicki Hoefle's "Parenting on Track" series on both DVDs and CDs.  These are available to all and can be checked out in the library.
